![]() Success - I confirm that this method works with a Haswell Refresh CPU as well, specifically Core i5-4690 non-K (SR1QH) version. they have no official haswell refresh support. mine has itĮdit: This resulted in 400 mhz overclock.Īfter more research i think its the me version that allows haswell refresh cpu compatibility. Many motherboards have a removable bios chip. be careful and read and read again and double and triple check everything before you flash. ![]() I do not know if the downgraded microcode will prevent haswell refresh cpus from working.īios modding may result in a dead motherboard. ![]() This was done with a non haswell refresh cpu. updating ME requires seperate tools and instructions not mentioned hereĪnd reboot and go to bios set to per core and insert maximum single core turbo for all cores and you are done. While i was at it i also updated raid efi and legacy and gop and also my me version. version 8 disabled the turbo overclocking ability. The lastest available bios for me had microcode version 19 in it. In the tool theres helpful notes that show important changes since last microcode. I used latest bios and downgraded its microcode to version 7. I tried all the oldest bios available but they didnt work either. Then i figured from all my research that it must be cpu microcode that is preventing it. and you can run max turbo on all cores with non k cpu. On Asus Z97-K there is a specific setting that you set to enable. it was still locked down to intel default turbo multipliers. ![]() but cpu refused to run at max turbo on all cores no matter which settings were used. I knew about the multicore enhancement that all motherboard these days offer.
